Description

100kVA, 11kV/415V Transformer is a standard distribution transformer used to step down medium-voltage utility power (11,000V) to a usable low-voltage level (415V) for residential, commercial, and small industrial buildings. This is typically an Outdoor Type, Oil-Immersed transformer. It serves as the final link in the power grid before electricity enters a building’s main switchgear.

• Cooling (ONAN): It uses Oil Natural Air Natural cooling. The core and windings are submerged in mineral oil, which acts as both an insulator and a coolant. Heat is dissipated through external fins (radiators) via natural air convection.
• Winding Material: High-conductivity Electrolytic Copper is the industry standard for 100kVA units to ensure maximum efficiency and lower heat losses.
• Vector Group (Dyn11): This is the standard 3-phase configuration. The High Voltage (HV) side is Delta connected, and the Low Voltage (LV) side is Star connected with a neutral point brought out for grounding and single-phase loads.

Standard Fittings & Accessories

A 100kVA unit usually comes equipped with:

• HV & LV Bushings: Porcelain insulators for cable connections.
• Oil Level Indicator: A visual gauge to ensure the tank is full.
• Pressure Relief Valve (PRV): To release internal gas pressure in case of a fault.
• Conservator Tank: (Optional on 100kVA) To allow for oil expansion/contraction.
• Silica Gel Breather: Removes moisture from the air entering the tank.
• Drain/Sampling Valve: For oil testing and maintenance.
• Earthing Terminals: Two points for safety grounding.
